Little Readers Nook ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Little Readers Nook website and early-literacy ebook platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service.

Our service is designed for parents and guardians who create accounts on behalf of their young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. All accounts are created and managed by adults.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain your account and subscription
To display reading progress on the parent dashboard
To process subscription payments securely through Stripe
To improve the platform based on usage patterns
To send transactional emails (subscription receipts, account notices)

We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use children's data for advertising or marketing purposes.

COPPA Compliance

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires that we obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13. Our service is structured so that only parents and guardians create accounts. Children's profiles (first name and grade) are created by and visible only to the parent account holder.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us immediately at hello@littlereadersnook.com and we will delete that information promptly.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a PostgreSQL database platform with row-level security policies. Payment information is handled exclusively by Stripeand is never stored on our servers. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

Third-Party Services

Google OAuth — used for sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Stripe — used for payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Supabase — used for data storage. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Vercel Analytics — used for aggregate usage analytics. No personal data is shared.
Google Text-to-Speech — used to generate audio read-aloud. Page text is sent to Google's API.

Your Rights

You may at any time:

Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Remove child profiles from the account settings page
Cancel your subscription from the account settings page
