About Our Books
Every book in the library is placed in a carefully sequenced progression — from first picture books in Pre-K through fluent independent reading in 1st Grade. Here's how it's organized.
Our books are intentionally short — 6 to 10 pages — so children finish what they start. Every completed book is a small win that builds the confidence to pick up the next one.

Leveled Progression
Units build on each other so children are always challenged just enough — never overwhelmed.
Sight Words Highlighted
High-frequency words are visually marked in every book so children recognize them on sight.
Phonics-Aligned
Each unit targets a specific phonics skill, giving children the decoding tools to read independently.
Picture-driven stories that introduce vocabulary and build a love of reading before formal phonics begins.
Unit 1 — Concepts & Vocabulary
Simple nouns, colors, sizes, and position words (in, on, up). Perfect first books for emerging readers.

Unit 2 — Animals & Action Words
Action verbs introduced through playful animal stories. Builds listening comprehension and word recognition.

A full six-unit progression from first sight words through long vowels — the backbone of early reading fluency.
Unit 1 — Pre-Primer Sight Words
Master the most common sight words in short, confidence-building stories with just one idea per page.
Phonics: Basic CVC words (cat, dog, run)
Unit 2 — Short Vowel CVC Words
Practice all five short vowel sounds alongside the next set of sight words.
Phonics: Short a, e, i, o, u (cat, bed, pig, dog, sun)
Unit 3 — Consonant Digraphs
Learn letter pairs that make a single sound in expressive, slightly longer stories.
Phonics: sh, ch, th, ck (ship, chat, this, duck)
Unit 4 — Consonant Blends
Tackle the wide world of blends — the last major hurdle before fluent early reading.
Phonics: bl, br, cl, fr, sl, st, tr… and final blends (nd, ng, nk)
Unit 5 — Magic E (Silent E)
Discover how a silent 'e' changes a vowel sound and begin mixing short and long vowels.
Phonics: a_e, i_e, o_e, u_e (cake, bike, home, cube)
Unit 6 — Review & Mixed Practice
Bring every skill together in richer stories with more narrative flow and varied vocabulary.
Phonics: All prior Kindergarten phonics combined
Four units that push into vowel teams, r-controlled vowels, and word-building — the leap to independent reading.
Unit 1 — Long Vowel Teams (ai/ay, ee/ea)
Master the first set of vowel digraphs in descriptive sentences and longer-arc stories.
Phonics: ai/ay (rain, play), ee/ea (see, read)
Unit 2 — More Vowel Teams (oa/ow, oo, ou/ow)
Tackle trickier vowel combinations in stories with real plot and character detail.
Phonics: oa/ow (boat, snow), oo (moon, book), ou/ow (cloud, owl)
Unit 3 — R-Controlled Vowels
Decode r-controlled vowels in richer stories that allow more character development.
Phonics: ar (star, farm), or (corn), er/ir/ur (her, bird, fur)
Unit 4 — Compound Words & Suffixes
Expand vocabulary through word-building strategies and more complex, flowing sentences.
Phonics: Compound words (sunshine), -ing, -ed, -s/-es endings
Books Beyond Early Literacy
Not every child learns the same way — and not every book needs to teach phonics. Our special needs collection is built for social-emotional learning, supporting children who benefit from visual storytelling, clear routines, and named feelings. These books are a tool for connection, not just reading practice.
📖 Social Stories
Step-by-step visual sequences of everyday situations — going to school, waiting in line, washing hands. Each page shows one clear action, helping children know what to expect and feel prepared. Widely used in autism support and early childhood behavioral programs.
💛 Emotion Books
Characters experience and name their feelings — happy, frustrated, nervous, proud — in simple, relatable scenarios. Supports emotional vocabulary and self-regulation. A gentle starting point for conversations between children and caregivers.
